The importance of keeping locks hydrated during the summer

Apply a smoothing product to damp hair and blow-dry it out straight using a big, round brush

Work an antifrizz cream into dry strands; begin to braid the desired area

When the braid is complete, pull gently on each side, starting at the bottom, to make it look messier and less structured. Pin any out-of-place strands under the hairline with like-colored bobby pins

If your braid acts as a crown head-band, you'll want to make sure the look is neater. Work a pea size amount of pomade over the braid to tame flyaways.

Finish with a strong hold spray all over to keep the braid in place
