Step 5: To create loose curl, wrap large sections around a 1¼" curling iron, keeping them inside the barrel

Step 6: Spray with holding spray

Contemporary Updo

Messy-on purpose texture is a pretty, dramatic look this summer. Gather hair into a freeform updo and you'll sail from daytime to date-time with ease

Step 1: Prep hair with volume styling cream, then blow-dry with a round brush, lifting locks up from the root and bending ends under

Step 2: Wrap different-sized sections around a 1¼" curling iron for a naturally textured look

Step 3: Loosen curls with fingers and a touch of Argan Oil Polish; create a side part and comb the front to one side, letting hair fall naturally

Step 4: Take remaining hair and slightly twist the back, then bring everything to the top; secure with pins and pull a single tendril down

Step 5: Spray all-over with holding spray

Bombshell Blowout

Inspired by Farrah's iconic tresses, this ultra-lush look features her signature flipped-out layers, all with va-va volume. Side-swept fringe and shiny auburn-brown add a right-now feel

Step 1: Start with freshly washed hair and mist with blow out spray to set the stage for a long-lasting look.

Step 2: Blow-dry hair with a large round brush to promote lift and shape; once hair is dry, switch to a medium-round brush to flip ends up and out.

Step 3: For even more volume, apply texturizing cream to your fingertips, combing through to define and add fullness at the base.

Step 4: Complete the style with a generous misting hair spray for maximum hold.

Lush Lob

The "long bob" length is right on trend; direct hair forward from a deep part to drape the face—so sexy!—and add flippy texture at the ends. Then, watch your flirt appeal soar

Step 1: Shampoo with smoothing shampoo to smooth the cuticle and add shine

Step 2: Spray hair with blow-out spray and divide into three sections: the top, side and crown

Step 3: Blow-dry hair with a large round brush starting at the nape, smoothing and cupping ends under. Continue through to the sides and crown

Step 4: Sidepart hair and gently wrap just the ends with a 1" curling wand to create a subtle flip.

Step 5: Appy Argan Oil to smooth and flyaways and add extra shine

Sweet and Girlie

Nick Penna of BeStyled in Boston reports that gorgeous all-out curls are a favorite at his salon, and we can totally see why! It's an easy way to spice up your every day look and spotlights milky-chocolate highlights throughout a dark base

Spiral Surprise

Step 1: Blow hair out completely smooth with a round brush to create the base for the style

Step 2: Divide hair into small sections, then wrap each around a 1½" curling iron. For a face-framing effect, make sure to direct front sections away from the face

Step 3: Once the whole head is curled, lightly brush through hair or use your fingers to stretch and break up spirals for a natural feel

Step 4: Mist hair with a flexible-hold spray

Tousled Pixie

Who says short hair can't be girly? A pixie with lots of short-layers and choppy fringe gets the message across without saying a word

Step 1: Wash hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner to set the stage for fullness

Step 2: Blow-dry using a diffuser and your fingers

Step 3: Dispense a nickel-sized dollop of Kerastase Short Mania into your hand and starting at the crown, work the pomade towards the bangs, adding separation as you go

Step 4: Using the tips of your fingers, create points in the fringe and sweep it to the side for a perfectly imperfect finish

Take a Bow

This side-swept updo has a touch of retro appeal and its smooth top contrasts swirly bottom texture. A little black bow accent is as cute as can be!

Step 1: Start with day-old hair fore more grip.

Step 2: Gather hair into a side pony and secure with an elastic. Take out a section from underneath and wrap it around the base to hide the elastic; secure it with a bobby pin

Step 3: Wrap ¼" sections around a curling iron, then back-comb each for a messy-chic look; spray to hold

Step 4: Secure your favorite accessory at the top of the bun, anchoring it with bobby pins at the base of the ponytail

Swingy Ponytail

A lush, cascading ponytail has tons of flirt appeal, especially when paired with full, straight-across fringe

Step 1: Blow-dry hair smooth on high heat, angling the dryer nozzle down the cuticle shaft. Smooth sections with a round brush to create a voluminous effect

Step 2: Apply gloss for instant shine, working a small pearl-sized drop from roots to ends

Step 3: Smooth bangs with a round brush, then switch to a Mason Pearson brush and direct the rest into a light top ponytail, securing it with an elastic. Grab a section of hair from the tail to wrap around the elastic band and secure with bobby pins

Step 4: Finish up with a flexible hold spray

Hipster Hair

If you like to radiate an edgy vibe but can't imagine yourself in anything Miley or Gaga-inspired, these looks should fit the bill

Cool Coils

Long, curly hair is styled to perfection, courtesy of the team from Aveda. But first, locks were dry-cut to allow the weight and texture to naturally fall into a more flattering shape.

Step 1: Cleanse hair with Be Curly shampoo and conditioner, then add 3-5 pumps of Be Curly Style-Prep into your palms and work it throughout strands.

Step 2: Divide hair into two sections—front and back—and apply Be Curly Curl Enhancer. Put more in back than in front, then use a wide-tooth comb to make sure it's evenly distributed

Step 3: Add a diffuer attachment to your blowdryer and working on a low speed, high heat setting, turn your head upside down and lightly bunch hair into the diffuser, starting at the ends and working towards the scalp

Step 4: When hair is 75% dry, sit up and continue bunching sections into the diffuser, then amp up the fullness by scrunching large sections with your hands

Step 5: Finish with a mist of Brilliant Medium Hold Hair Spray for tons of shine

Pumped-up Ponytail

We're of the opinion that you can't have enough ponytails in your summer hair arsenal! For a fresh take on the trend, the tail is loosely waved and bangs are coaxed up and over for a cool rocker vibe

Step 1: Add mousse to towel-dried tresses and blow hair out with a large round brush, directing bangs up and over from a short side part

Step 2: Use a medium-barrel curling iron to create loose waves through the bottom half of hair, keeping the top sleek for contrast

Step 3: Brush back the sides using a few dabs of pomade so the surface is extra-polished, taking care that you don't disturb the textured ends

Step 4: Catch hair with a coated elastic and wind a section from the tail around it, and pin underneath.

Step 5: Mist the bangs with light holding spray.

Short Shag

Baby-fine hair gains lots of movement and volume when cut into a shag shape with shorter interior layers and softness at the edges

Step 1: Work mousse through damp hair and blow-dry with a round brush so it falls naturally around the face

Step 2: Hair is flat-ironed—use a fast-drying finishing spray through the crown for volume and take the rest straight, tucking sides behind ears

Step 3: Apply a styling wax for all-over shine and mist with holding spray

Retro-Chic Roll

Inspired by the 1940's Victory Roll that usually topped mid-length or longer locks, this medium version is done on much shorter hair that has extra length through the front. You could also use a small clip-on hair extensions to get the look
