The very short cut can be tweaked to suit most anyone's sense of style

We asked two celebrity stylists to help you find your perfect pixie. Louise O'Connor of OC61 Salon (Olivia Munn's one of her clients) and Ursula Stephen, Motions Global Ambassador (Rihanna's one of hers) provide the deets behind the face-baring 'do

Are you SOPHISTICATED like Andrea Osvart?

Opt For: A 60's-throwback pixie (think Twiggy) that's fringe-free with lots of crown layers for volume. It's well-groomed and professional looking, taking you from the boardroom to an evening out without missing a beat

Way to Wear it: Use a round brush as you blow-dry, lifting sections on top. Touch up with a small curling iron and use a wide-tooth comb to do some light teasing. Finish with hairspray to enhance shine and hold.

Are you CLASSIC like Valorie Curry?

Opt For: This sleek snip with short, angled fringe, temple-hugging sides and a v-shaped nape. Its precise shape accentuates the clean lines of the typical classic woman's wardrobe, and it's ideal for fine hair.

Way to Wear it: You need a flawless complexion, as there's nothing to hide behind. Simply brush hair flat to the head—it couldn't be easier!

Are you EDGY like Jaime Winstone?

Opt For: An extremely short, spiky cut. With its androgynous feel, you need a lot of confidence to pull this one off. Other traits that come to mind: Outgoing, gutsy and risk-taking.

Way to Wear it: A prominent chin and sculpted cheekbones balance the cut's drama. Perfectly applied makeup is also a must, but designate just one feature as the focal point—with Jaime, it's her bright red pout.

Are you PUNK like Sami Gayle?

Opt For: A cut with extra-short layers, temple-hugging sideburns and choppy fringe—it's easy, fun and versatile. Create a faux-hawk if you're feeling extra rebellious or direct hair to the side. It best suits girls with straight hair.

Way to Wear it: Blow-dry hair with your fingers, directing it forward from the back of the crown. To finish, swipe a flat iron throughout to banish any bend.

Are you BOHO like Olivia Thirlby?

Opt For: A grown out pixie with longer layers on top; the shaggy style has great texture and is perfect for the fun, laidback woman who has effortless style and wants a versatile look.

Way to Wear it: Have your stylist cut hair in layers and blow it out straight for drama or tousle it for a relaxed vibe. Use pomade to prevent hair from falling flat. A curling iron rather than a flat iron will help you achieve movement on top.

Are you GIRLY like Megan Washington?

Opt For: A sweet yet sexy look with stacked layers, random spikes and long, uneven fringe—it works well with the girly-girl's flirty clothing. It's a very stylish look for medium thick hair and it can easily be dressed up or down

Way to Wear it: Blow-dry hair with a round brush to add lift on top, then use a straightning  iron on select pieces to create some texture. Angle bangs forward and define them with pomade-tipped fingers.

Are you FEMININE like Tania Llasera?

Opt For: A pixie-meets-bowl cut with graduated, volume-boosting crown layers. Think Princess Diana, whose short cut set the standard for beauty and sophistication. This softened version of the pixie is ideal for the woman who doesn't want to cut it all off but is drawn to short hair's elegance and easy maintenance.

Way to Wear it: Have your stylist leave length on top and graduated layers down to the nape. If your hair has wave, blow-dry it with a round brush to add volume and smoothness. To finish, flat-iron the fringe and sides
