The Best Rihanna Curls Tutorial You’ll See All Year

Hi beauties! It’s Carina and I am back to share my favorite way to get a full curly hair look (a la Rihanna) that can be achieved no matter your hair texture. Rocking a curly hair look, even if it’s not your natural texture, is a fun way to show off a different side of your hairstyle, and this style is no exception! So, get ready to channel your inner pop goddess with these Rihanna curls!

How to Style:

  1. Starting with slightly damp hair, apply a styling cream from roots to tips.
  2. Section off the top of your hair, then divide the section closest to your neck into three small sections.
  3. Using a wide tooth comb, gently brush through the section and begin twisting it.
  4. Twist the section until it begins coiling back on itself.
  5. Wrap the twist around and secure with a bobby pin.
  6. Allow the twists to stay in overnight.
  7. In the morning, remove bobby pins and gently shake out twists.
  8. Fluff hair as desired.
  9. If some areas are not curled, use a 1-inch curling iron to touch up.
  10. Set your gorgeous Rihanna curls with your favorite hairspray.

Styling Tips:

This style can be done on both curly and straight hair. If you have straight hair and would like to have a fuller and curlier look, create your twisted pin curls from small sections of hair. Also, try alternating the sizes of each section. This will create more natural curls. I would also recommend prepping damp hair with a light hold gel to make sure the curls maintain their shape and fullness throughout the day and evening.

For those with curly hair, this style will give you more defined curls along with extra body. It’s a fun way to alter your natural curls without using a lot of heat and to play around with different sized curls. If you have tight curls, try creating medium-sized twists for larger curls. If you have medium or large curls, try creating small twisted pin curls for a smaller defined curls.

I had so much fun playing with these Rihanna curls and I hope you do too. It’s the perfect way to try out a new style without having to make a long-term commitment!
