Retro Crush: You'll Fall Fast For These New Takes On Vintage Looks

5 Steps To Vintage Glam Waves

Sculpted side waves are a Hollywood classic for a reason—they're gorgeous on the red carpet and beyond! Tap the chic look for your next close-up with styling steps from Robert Vetica for Vidal Sasoon Pro.

Step 1

Prepare wet hair with mousse to increase touchable volume, shine and hold. Vetica recommends using an amount about the size of a golf ball.

Step 2

Create a low side part and use a 100% boar bristle brush to blow-dry hair away from the face; this prevents locks from going flat and adds bouncy movement

Step 3

Spray 2-inch sections with a thermal protecting shine spray. Curl hair until midway down around a 3/4-inch curling iron. Continue to curl around the perimeter for 10 seconds to ensure a strong set

Step 4

Starting at the nape, set the ends with a curling iron. Once hair has cooled, brush out curls to soften the look. While brushing back-comb the sides and ends to ensure flexibility

Step 5

Mist with hairspray, for modern flair, add x-shaped bobby pins at the crown, placing them so the edges face in to better grip the hair
