Go Retro: The Most Memorable Styles From The Past Have Been Made Modern

They're Ba-ack!

You know what they say: what goes around always comes around, and that's definitely the case with hairstyles! According to Celebrity Stylist Angelo David Pisacreta of Angelo David Salon in NYC, these three looks from the past have undergone a few tweaks, and are a huge hit yet again.

Center-parted hippie hair from the 1970s was a major player on the spring 2015 runways, often with a full fringe or reworked with soft waves.

The piece-y 70s shag was seen at spring 2015 runway shows like Anna Sui, where it had a rock-'n-roll flair. The alternative to the bob has been made modern and sexy.

Punk hues are big—think 70s living room colors like green and purple-gray. Use a temporary product that will wash out with your next shampoo unless you have a super-bold sense of style

Keep in mind that rocking these retro looks requires subtlety, says Pisacreta—you don't want to end up with too-big, dated hair or an overly-layered shag that's overly contrived.
